A Letter to Me

Dear Diadem,

I wish you would see yourself in a different light,
I wish you would bloom without limitations,
I wish you would dance in the rain or on a table in a room full of people,
I wish you would choose confidence and joy at all times,
I wish you would embrace every bit of your weird self,
I wish you would leave the wall and shine at the centre of the room.

I wish…

The wish list is long, and I have come to accept that you may never do some or even all of those things; so, I will love you for whatever little you find the courage to do in this life.

Diadem, I never think of a strong person when I think of you (myself…lol). I mean, I denounced the strong title a long time ago. When I think of you, I think of a little girl, fragile even in her best form, talented yet undeserving of the centre stage because life robbed her early, soft on the inside and outside, yet capable of enduring the worst of hardness…those are my thoughts.

In the coming days and years, I hope to think of you in more colourful hues, and maybe some of my wishes for you will become a reality. But for now, I will love you just as you are, dear Diadem.
